

Mae Loucile (Lucy) Stepp, 88, of Brunswick, GA passed away peacefully on Friday, June 10, 2022. Many, many people referred to her as “Nanny”... she was deeply loved.
Friends and Family may pay their respects Friday, June 17, 2022 at 12:30pm in the Chapel at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7133 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406.
Pastor Robert Harper will lead the Life Well celebrated Service at 1 pm.
Burial of her ashes will follow in the Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Loucile was born in Clay County, AL on September 8, 1933 to the late Daniel Zero Cotney, Sr and Mae Bell Hubbard Cotney. She first moved to Brunswick, GA with her mother and step-father, Albert Danner.
Loucile graduated from Hueytown High School in 1951.
She was married to Marvin Franklin Jones. They had 5 children. She was a military wife and then a single, hardworking, loving mother. She worked at Brunswick Junior College in Brunswick, GA for many years.
Lucy married Doyle Gene Stepp on December 5, 1980 and claimed 4 more children whom she loved as her own. For many years Doyle and Lucy worked and lived in GA, FL, LA, & SC. They traveled RV style most of the US.
Lucy loved her family, traveling, reading, doing puzzles, crocheting, playing games, and gardening. She especially loved camping with her “Honey”!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Zero Cotney, Jr.; her sister, Virginia Carol Danner Sizemore; her daughter, Marva Carol Jones Sadler; her great-granddaughter, Aleanna Hope Belmarez; her stepson, Doyle Gene Stepp; her son-in-law Michael Arthur Stratton.
Loucile is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Doyle Gene Stepp and their children:
