

Mary “Bette” Jameson was born on September 21st, 1929 to the late Carl Adrian Adams and Florence B. Adams in Glendale, Spartanburg, SC.
She is survived by six children: Robert W. Jameson/Carla of Columbia, SC, Randall E. Jameson/Connie of Anderson, SC, Chere’ J. Ward/Jimmy of Bonneau, SC, Rhonda E. Jerome/Joe of North Charleston, SC, Regina E. Parrigin/Donnie of Summerset, KY, Russell E. “Jaime” Jameson/Suzie of North Charleston, SC. She has 28 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Russell E. Jameson of 67 years. Second husband William D. Brown of 6 years. Two Brothers Adrian and Harry Adams and grandson Phillip H. Riley.
Mary “Bette” Jameson served as the Director of the Charleston Naval Base Child Development Center for 35 years from 1959 until it closed in 1993 when she retired.
She was the member of the Spartanburg Seventh Day Adventist Church. She also remained a member of the Moncks Corner PH Church even after she moved to Spartanburg. She loved her church families.
She was known most for her love of flowers, she raised and cared for African violets and red roses for many years. She also loved to collect red cardinals. She loved pictures, whether she was taking them or receiving them.
She lived the last two years at White Oak Estates in Spartanburg where she had many friends and dearly loved the entire staff.
A visitation will be held on Saturday December 12th from 1:00pm – 2:00pm at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. A Life Well Celebrated Service will immediately follow at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Carolina Memorial Funeral home. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
