Mary Rona Jenkins

Born on January 29, 1941, in Stephenville Crossing, Newfoundland, Canada, Mary was the beloved daughter of Thomas Connolly and Patricia Benoit Connolly. She grew up with strong roots, a warm heart, and a spirit of creativity that would define her throughout her life.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ken Jenkins, and her daughter, Carolyn Jenkins. She leaves behind her son, Joey Jenkins; daughter, Marlene Cantrell (Jerome); and grandchildren Brandon Cantrell (Katie), Jared Cantrell (Sarah), Christopher Jenkins, and Philip Sanders. She also leaves behind nine cherished great-grandchildren: Gracelyn, Dani, Carlyann, Peyton, Riley, Jeremiah, Cooper, Emmarie, and Lila.

A woman of deep faith, Mary was a proud member of New Beginnings Christian Church. She was known for her incredible talents as a seamstress and cake decorator, and her love for all things handmade—whether it was a beautiful craft or a knitted dishcloth lovingly created while watching her favorite TV shows. Her generous heart, caring nature, and unwavering sense of humor brought comfort and joy to everyone around her.

Mary’s legacy will live on through the family she loved so deeply and the many lives she touched with her kindness, laughter, and creativity. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 10:30am at Carolina Memorial Gardens, located at 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406.
