To whomever reads this,

I am grateful to Paul's wife, Pam, and to his sister, Terri, for making me aware of Paul's battle, closer to the end of his life. I got to connect to him by phone in a way I really hadn't done earlier. Paul and I enjoyed various calls together and when his life was completed, Pam sent me back a painting my father had painted and given him, which hung in my and my brother's bedroom we shared. This also meant a lot to me.

Paul was very fond of my father, Randall Briere. I only brushed elbows with Paul throughout most of his life but really, the whole Hotte family, both those in Massachusetts and those in South Carolina, have impacted the whole of my life in positive ways. They (and we) are nearly gone now, yet the memories remain. 

And I know that I shall see Paul again, for he was a believer on the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9-10) and that...in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: [for] the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:52.

Paul was a great family man and an outstanding member of the US Air Force. Though he was a cousin my whole life, I got to know him better in his last year, through our phone calls. I know he loved my dad, Randy. I see you again, some day soon.

Pam the joy of being with you and Randy at Jeannine and Jeffs 25th wedding anniversary  celebration and seeing him dance and laugh  -a treasured memory .The oldest cousin Elaine.

Many childhood memories of going with uncle Randy on our fun trips to NH and Plymouth.  Also, my trips with Memere and Pepere on Amtrak to come and visit him and Aunt Pam in SC. 
 My thoughts and prayers are with you Pam, Amy and family.

Ps you got me to dance too!

Randy was my cousin and a brother-in Christ.  I saw him infrequently, throughout my growing up years, and as an adult, I heard of his many exploits in the U.S. Air Force, mostly from my dad, CSM Randall J.J. Briere. Through the years, life led us apart in our separate ways and sadly, I lost touch with Randy and other family members for a longer period of time.

We reconnected recently by telephone through the help of Randy's sister, Terri and his wife, Pam, and we shared many stories from our past...stories about a house we'd lived at in Raynham, MA. when I was too young to remember it, stories about his and my military enlistments and the jobs we did, and many stories about his love for my dad.

One story Randy shared with my a few times was about when my dad encouraged him through a time of decision, to re-enlist in the Air Force. Both men were career soldiers and military retirees. I am thankful for these conversations we had and grateful for Randy's service to his country and his love for his family.


Remembering dancing with you at my 25 th anniversary party.  And, feeding you a delicious meal that put a smile to your face- grilled salmon and fresh corn on the cob!  So grateful you were able to be with us then .

Dear Pam , Amy and family,
We are heartbroken.  We grieve with you.
Paul’s  (Randy’s) wish was to work into his 90’s like his Dad.
He is at peace now. 
 Hometown  memories will remain in our hearts forever.
