

Robert David Comer, affectionately known as Bob, passed away on December 27, 2023, at the age of 64, while at work in Jamestown, SC. A resident of Goose Creek, SC, Bob was born on October 2, 1959, to Franklin and Elizabeth Comer in Cheyenne, Wyoming. His legacy is one of dedication, warmth, and a profound love for his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving parents, Franklin and Elizabeth Comer, and cherished by his two sisters, Suzan Thornton and Helen Comer. Bob leaves behind a network of uncles, aunts, and cousins who will hold dear the memories they shared. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, as well as other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Bob earned a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Wyoming University in Laramie, WY, marking the beginning of a 25-year career as an IT specialist at the Chargeur Wool Processing Plant in Jamestown, SC. His commitment and expertise made a lasting impact on the workplace, and he will be remembered for his professionalism and unwavering dedication to his craft.
Outside of work, Bob found joy and relaxation in the sport of bowling. Since moving to the Goose Creek area in 1995, he became an active member of the local bowling community, forging friendships and sharing laughs with fellow enthusiasts. His passion for the sport brought him a sense of camaraderie and fulfillment.
Bob also had a love for travel, relishing in visits to the picturesque states of California and Hawaii. These experiences allowed him to explore new landscapes, savor diverse cultures, and create cherished memories that enriched his life.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on Thursday, January 4, 2023, from 10-11 AM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, located at 7113 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, SC 29406. A celebration of life service will follow immediately after in the chapel at 11:00 AM. A private burial will take place thereafter, honoring Bob's wishes for a quiet, reflective farewell.
Bob's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
