Ruth was born on August 9, 1936 in Ladson, South Carolina. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ruffie O. Ackerman; her parents, James and Marie Clark of Lincolnville, South Carolina and one sister, Louise McBride of North Charleston, South Carolina.
Ruth is survived by a daughter, Linda Ackerman Orr (Dennis) and a son, Gregory O. Ackerman (Terri) of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; a brother, James “Junior” Clark (Margie) of Goose Creek, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Stacey Orr Champy, Emily Grace Ackerman and Grayson O. Ackerman; and three great-grandchildren, Sophie Champy, Seth Champy and Roxanne Champy.
Ruth loved her family and was dedicated to reading her Bible daily. She enjoyed bowling, cooking and gardening.
The family would like to express their most heartfelt thanks to her special caretakers and friends, Rhonda, Nicole, Carol, Jirlie, Trish, Retta and Lovay.
All are welcome to attend a graveside service on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 3pm at Carolina Memorial Gardens located at 7113 Rivers Avenue North Charleston, South Carolina.
