A beloved husband, son, and brother Shawn Christopher Wood, 58 of Ravenel, South Carolina passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026. Shawn was born on May 3, 1967 in Portsmouth, Virginia to Walter Stephen Wood and the late Norma Toney Deschaine.
Shawn built a career in Heavy Highway Construction and worked at Banks Construction Company for many years. Shawn worked countless long hours but was very proud of his work and accomplishments. He was very well respected by all in the industry.
Shawn was an avid skateboarder back in the day and enjoyed attending local “bowl” events. Reconnecting with old friends brought him much joy.
Shawn is survived by his Wife Tammy Lynn Wood, Father Walter Stephen Wood, Step-Mother Elizabeth Diane Wood, Brother Kevin Lynn Wood, Nephews David Lynn Wood and Kyle Logan Wood, Great Neice Kellci Jade Wood, and Great Nephew Austin Shane Wood.
Shawn remained positive throughout a very long health battle. He is now at peace.
