Sherrie Lee Teator Spencer, age 63, of Isle of Palms, S.C. died Sunday, April 9, 2017, after a struggle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Freeman Teator. She is survived by her mother, Dawn Marie Newnham Teator; her son, Wayne Eugene Eckert III, husband of Ashley Knight Eckert; two grandsons: Joseph Eugene Eckert and William Tyler Eckert; two sisters: Penny (Eddie) Whitney and Linda Holmes; her fiancé Donald Spray; all of Charleston and one niece and two nephews.
Her funeral service and interment will be on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 6:00pm graveside, at Carolina Memorial Park, officiated by Father James Taylor.
Sherrie was born June 10, 1953, in New Port, Rhode Island and graduated from North Charleston High School. She was a member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church and retired from the Medical University of South Carolina. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts with her mother and spending time at her mountain property in Lake Lure, N.C.
