Born January 15th, 1943, in Hemingway South Carolina, she currently lived in Santee S.C. Shirley passed away while visiting her favorite get away spot in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. “Squirrely Shirley” had a unique & boisterous personality. She cared deeply for those she loved. You always knew where you stood with Shirley, who did not hold back on her opinions. Shirley worked at American Frozen Foods in Stratford, CT, at Mary Kay Cosmetics, and in restaurant management. Her most recent occupation was as the loving caretaker of her Mom, Margie Poland, while Margie was chronically ill until she passed. Shirley leaves behind daughter Crystal Brimer (Alan), grandsons Jonathan and Brandon Laue, granddaughter Caitlin Brimer, sister Dixie Powers, her favorite brother Joey White (Ann-Marie), several beloved nieces, nephews, and longtime friends. Shirley was predeceased by her father Hollis Douglas, mother Margie Poland, her great love-Douglas Howard, and stepfather David Poland. Service and burial will be private.
