Shirley enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and tomato plants. She loved bird watching, her favorites were the red cardinals. Shirley attended First Baptist Church of Johns Island.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Marion “Smitty” Smith of Johns Island, SC; her sister, Gloria Pittman of Alabama; her daughters, Sheree Brabham of Columbia, SC and Wanda Gehlken (Joel) of Ridgeland, SC. Her grandchildren, David Stewart (Carla), Joey Gravette, Laura Huthmacher (Anthony), Shawn Droze, Thomas Droze (Gwendolyn), and Audrey Ward (Trey). Also, by 12 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday May 19, 2025 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. A Celebration of Life will follow from 2:30pm to 3:30pm in the Chapel. The Burial will follow at 3:30pm at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
