
Tom was born on March 22, 1963 in Reno, Nevada. He grew up in the town of Gabbs, Nevada and graduated from high school in 1981. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting with his family. Tom joined the Navy after high school and spent the next 12 years serving our country aboard a nuclear submarine as a Ballistic Missile Weapons Technician. Tom served proudly aboard the USS John C. Calhoun submarine earning a multitude of awards, medals, and badges.
Tom married the love of his life in 1990 and they have been together ever since. Tom and Margaret were active in the Charleston Shag Club and the Elk’s Club. Tom worked for Westrock Paper Mill for the last 20+ years.
Tom is survived by his wife Margaret H. Parsons, stepdaughter Kristie Turbeville, son-in-law, Toby Turbeville, granddaughter, Sarah Turbeville, siblings Daniel Parsons Jr, Timothy Parsons, Theresa Brady, nephews, Ivan Parsons, Charles Wheeler, John Brady, and nieces, Becky Wheeler, Lizabeth Wheeler and Julia Brady. Tom was preceded by his parents Daniel and Reta Parsons and his sister Judy Wheeler.
Tom had a big heart and loved his family and friends. He will be greatly missed and his memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A memorial visitation drop-in is scheduled for Sunday, November 14, 2021 between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Park located at 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, South Carolina, 29406.
