Tina Marie Pope

Tina Marie Nieves Pope, age 46, of Ladson, South Carolina, passed away on June 29, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 15, 1977, in Bronx, New York, to Roy Nieves and Myrna Gerena.

Tina is survived by her mother, Myrna Gerena, her sister, Toni Chesson, and her three children: Destiny Hutchins, Ashonti Pope, and Jasmin Nieves. She was also the beloved grandma to grandkids: Damir, Ashonti Jr., Pedro, and Pablo Pope.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Nieves, her husband, Carl Pope, two sons; Kevin and Zyion, as well as other loved ones.

As a mother, she always made her family a priority. Tina was a protector of those she loved and always made sure her children were cared for, while also looking out for others.

Tina had a special place in her heart for dolphins, they were her favorite animal. She recently enjoyed a trip to North Carolina where she got to ride in a monster truck, which was an experience she absolutely loved.

Tina lived a life full of love, laughter, and warmth that touched the hearts of all those who knew her. Her infectious smile, laughter, and joy of life will be remembered and cherished forever.

A visitation at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home chapel for Tina will be held Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
