

William L. Korbisch ("Bill"), 85, of Bonneau, SC, passed away peacefully at home on January 2, 2025, under the care of Agape Hospice, surrounded by his family. Born on February 15, 1939, in Aniwa, WI, to Joseph and Barbara (Rank) Korbisch, Bill proudly served 20 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. Following his military career, he worked for over two decades as a TV repairman with Tolbert TV and Patton & Young before entering full-time retirement. An active member of the Fleet Reserve, Bill enjoyed traveling, caring for his beloved companion (Smokey), playing pinch, and honing his Pinochle skills online.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Fike Korbisch; daughter and son-in-law, Faith and Joseph Batton; and several siblings, including his five sisters: Ann Martis, Barbara Korbisch, Caroline Fronek, Marcella Lenzner, and Alice Lex, and three brothers: Joseph, Charles and Frank Korbisch.
Bill is survived by his five children: Angela M. Walker (Frankie), Pamela R. Strock (Harry), Kimberly K. Welch (Bobby), Christopher "Scott" Korbisch, and Jamie Korbisch (Stephanie); two sisters, Rosella Toney and Katherine Resch; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and many other family and friends who will cherish his memory.
Bill’s life was shaped by his service to his country and the simple pleasures he enjoyed along the way. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

He will be laid to rest with military honors at Carolina Memorial Gardens in North Charleston on January 11, 2025 at 1:00 pm. There will be a Visitation from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on January 11, 2025 at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. The Service will follow from 12:00 pm to 1:00pm in the Chapel.
