

He was born on October 18, 1933 to Palma and Clyde Silver in Heath Springs, SC. Being the son of a railroad family, he lived in many places growing up. Eventually, his family settled in North Charleston where he grew up in the Park Circle area.
In 1951, he graduated from North Charleston High School as a three sport letterman and president of his senior class. In 1953, he met his future wife and love of his life, Wilma. They married in 1958 while he worked for Builders Hardware. In the early sixties, he opened Silver-Winn Supply Company in North Charleston, eventually moving the business to Goose Creek in 1967, where he retired in 1992.
His love for his wife and family made him passionate about everything he did. He was an avid fast pitch softball player until his children began playing sports. He took on the role of coach and mentor, teaching children life lessons on the sports fields on Playground Road at St. Andrews Parks and Playgrounds.
In addition to his loving wife of 63 years, Wilma Johnson Silver, he is survived by daughter, Terri Lynn Silver (Larry); sons, William H. Silver Jr. (Tracy) and Keith Monroe Silver; grandchildren, Michael Silver (Jordyn), Brittany Silver, Kyle Silver, Julie Copeland (Chris), Jersey Silver, Kacie Silver, Keith M. Silver Jr.; great grandchildren, William, Jalen, Miles, and Macie; sister, Sadie Clemmons. He is preceded by sister, Betty Self; brothers, Reid Silver and Ronald Silver.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. at Carolina Memorial Funerals & Cremation, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. A Celebration of Life will follow from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association in his memory.
