Gladis Esperanza Mata

Gladis Esperanza Mata nació el 25 de Mayo del año 1957 en la colonia ‘La Constancia’ aledaño a la capital, San Salvador del pais El Salvador. Ella era la menor de ocho hijos de sus padres Rogelio Lopez-Garcia y Blanca Rosa Huezo. El unico hermano que sobrevivió de esos hijos es su hermano mayor, Oscar Napoleon Lopez. Toda su infancia la vivió en esa colonia y al crecer empezó sus estudios en la escuela Ramon Belloso de Monserrat. Terminando allí su primaria se fue a la Romero Albergue escuela cercana a la casa presidencial de San Salvador. Continuó sus estudios superiores en el Collegio David J. Guzman de San Salvador. Mientras ella estudiaba en el collegio, en el año 1974 conocio a su esposo actual Edgardo Alfredo Castellón Mata. En el año 1977, de esa union nació su primera hija Mayra Yaneth Mata. Al año despues su esposo viajó para los Estados Unidos y vivió con Oscar quien habia llegado primero al extranjero. Gladis estuvo un año mas en El Salvador antes de finalmente viajar para estar cerca de su esposo. En el año 1981 llegaron sus padres, su hija, y su sobrina Evelyn. Despues de estar en el pais tres año se casó el 23 de Marzo del 1982. El año siguiente tuvo a su ultima hija, Doris Marlene Mata. Ella dejó muchos sobrinos y los hijos de sus sobrinos. Siempre la recordaremos como una persona muy trabajadora, amaba la naturaleza y las plantas, responsable, fuerte, y muy independiente. Vivirá siempre en la gente que la conoció durante su vida y con quien tocó con su cariño y amor. Será una madre, esposa, hermana, tia, y amiga muy extrañada por todos nosotros sus seres queridos.

Falleció el 22 de Julio del año 2012 en la ciudad de Baldwin Park.

Gladis Esperanza was born on 25 May 1957 in the colony of 'La Constancia' adjacent to the capital, San Salvador of the country El Salvador. She was the youngest of eight children of her parents Rogelio Lopez-Garcia and Blanca Rosa Huezo. The only surviving brother of these children is her older brother, Oscar Napoleon Lopez. Her entire childhood was spent in that colony and when she gre older she began her studies at Ramon Belloso of Monserrat school. Ending there her primary education at Romero she went to Roman Albergue near the presidential home in San Salvador. She continued her studies at the Collegio David J. Guzman of San Salvador. While she was studying at the collegio, in 1974 met her current husband Edgardo Castellón Alfredo Mata . In 1977, this union brought them their first born child Mayra Yaneth Mata. A year after her husband traveled to the United States and lived with Oscar who had first come abroad. Gladis was another year in El Salvador before finally traveling to be near her husband. In 1981 her parents, her daughter and her niece Evelyn immigrated to the U.S. as well. After being in the country three years she finally married Edgardo on March 23, 1982. The following year came her last daughter, Doris Marlene Mata. She left many nieces and nephews and their children behind as well. She will always be remembered as a hard worker, lover of nature and plants and flowers, responsible, strong, and very independent. She will live on forever in the hearts of the people she met during her life and with whom she touched with her affection and love. She will be a mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend greatly missed by us all, her loved ones.

She died Sunday July 22nd, 2012 in the city of Baldwin Park.
