She enjoyed 85 great years and had a good last day on Saturday the 18th, visiting with her sisters and brother, children and grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She struggled with congestive heart failure the past 5-6 years and it finally overcame her. We were so lucky to have Mom/Sitte/Auntie/Jo with us for so long. She outlived her husband Joe who died at age 69 in 2001.
Josephine was proud of her Syrian-American heritage, and of her “adopted” Mexican heritage, having lived for 10 years in Mexico City with her parents. She was a dedicated wife and mother, and was always so proud of her family. She believed in the best of all of us. She loved to cook, to read books of all types, and she enjoyed all kinds of music. She had a song for everything!
The attached photo was taken at a recent July 4th birthday party. It was just like Mom to blow us all a kiss goodbye!
