

Born in New York City on August 16, 1926 the eldest son born to Sidney Douglas Sr. and Annabell Reives. He attended school in the Bronx, New York and attended St. Augustine Presbyterian Church in the Bronx.
Sidney enlisted in the United States Navy on September 1943 and served at Pearl Harbor Ammunition Depot until November 1946. He received several honorable medals, The American Theater Medal, The Victory Medal and The Asiatic Pacific Medal. He received an Honorable Discharge.
Upon returning home he went to work for the United States Post Office, as a Mail Clerk and worked there for 36 years before retiring.
Sidney married Doris Brown on August 1, 1947 in New York City. From that union he had four children Sidney Douglas Jr., Mark Douglas, Theresa Douglas, and Warren Douglas. After moving to Los Angeles, California Sidney later married Mary L. Lewis in Los Angeles on November 27th, 1959 and has one stepdaughter Diane L. Clark.
He departed this life October 9th 2015 at 4:30pm at his home is Los Angeles, California. Sidney enjoyed going to the racetrack, listening to Jazz, playing cards with his friends and helping others in need. He leaves to mourn his passing a devoted wife, three sons, one daughter, and one stepdaughter. He also had five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, and a host of relative and friends.
