Sweet, fun times……….never the same. But, so glad to have had them and the everlasting memories they made!

Miss you all the time. There isn’t a hockey game I’m at that you are not still there, sitting beside me. Miss you at the PB courts, at the card games, on  golf course and on the road exploring far away places. Not a day goes by that I’m not in the Sun Room, and there it sits, your putter, to bring back the memories. The memories of when life here at Wynmoor was truly better my dear, dear friend ❤️❗️

Whether it was a Panther hockey game or a mural on a wall in Quebec, hockey was part of the glue that bound us together!

We could NEVER walk past these young ladies without stopping for a “photo-op”,

Your smile, laughter and caring is always with us. You are very much missed.

Life, here at Wynmoor,  is changed forever.  Our paradise has been breached and will never be the same  without Alan. He was loved by so many and will be missed profoundly.  A piece of our hearts went with him.

I played ball alongside  Alan for many years and always remember his light hearted attitude which always made our games more fun. 
In later years, I always saved up my precious metals only for Alan in anticipation of his once a year visits to Toronto and to my office.  
I will miss him. May his memory be for a blessing.

I had the pleasure of being Alan's Rabbi in Danville, Illinois.  Alan was very special and Linda and I recall several Friday night Shabbat dinners with Susan & Alan over the years.  A wonderful memory was officiating at  Cammy's Bat Mitzvah in Toronto and Alan radiant with joy over his granddaughter.  May he rest in peace, he will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

So shocked and saddened by the passing of "Your loving Alan".
What a blessing to have had him as a dear friend for over 50 years.
We will miss his crazy sense of humor, which only improved with age,  and his genuine friendship. Our hearts are heavy,  but like everyone else, (be it family for friends), we will absolutely find comfort in the wonderful  memories of him. Never to be forgotten.

I just cannot come to grips with Garsh no longer being with us. Our Family has suffered a great loss. Our Energizer Bunny is gone and when Alan was in a room, we all knew it - but always in a great way. And for my family, his friends, we all have fun Alan stories. 

Alan married my cousin Susan so many years ago. It turned out that our families went back as his grandmother and my grandmother were both born and raised in Lida and I loved when they reconnected over the years in Toronto. Two old ladies acting as schoolgirls. Through them, we had a connection.

Alan and I and my late father worked together through most of the 1970s and they were interesting times, we were rich, we were broke, we got by. And Alan-he worked hard and my father  loved Alan more than just a nephew by marriage. 

I will admit, I feel angry at the injustice of life that took Alan who had exercized such caution during covid, and to think, we were more worried about Susie. He doted on Susan. He was an amazing husband and companion. He was a great father, and such a doting grandfather. Alan was just an all round great guy. And great guys are hard to say goodbye to. 

Our family has suffered a few terrible losses in recent times and now Alan. May we always be able to gather and laugh at some of the fun stories and when we reflect on Alan, who should have lived a long life, may we always have a smile on our lips. No one can ever say a bad word about my cousin Alan. It is impossible. Goodbye my old friend who was a part of my life as he was to many. I have hard trouble writing this.

I remember when you first came to Wynmoor and we discovered that you, Susan were  from Albert's meats and that your son, Jeff, was friends with our son, Bryan Stein.  It was a small world.  Alan was always asking me a million questions about Wynmoor as we were one of the original.  We were happy when you bought in Aruba and fixed up a beautiful home.  So , so many nice memories that will sustain you in the days to come .

Alan is one of the first people we met when we moved to Wynmoor 4 years ago. He introduced us to Pickleball, Chinese Buffets and took us in his golf cart to tour the course. His positive energy and genuine concern for his family and community were never ending. We will miss his presence, smile, and friendship. Gone too soon, he will be forever remembered in our hearts.
