Arlene Kurfurst, 94, of Boynton Beach, Florida, formerly of Bellmore, NY, passed away on June 11, 2025. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 12:00 at Riverside Nassau North Chapel, 55 North Station Plaza, Great Neck, NY 11021. Rabbi Schweber of Temple Israel of Great Neck will be officiating. Burial will follow at Wellwood Beth Moses Cemetery, 1500 Wellwood Avenue, West Babylon, NY 11704.
Arlene was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 26, 1930. She graduated from Hempstead High School and attended Syracuse University before marrying her beloved Marvin, sharing 64 memorable years. They owned Wantagh Beauty Supply, a neighborhood mainstay, for many years before retiring to Florida. Arlene was a beautiful person, a caring, devoted, kind woman, who possessed a deep-down goodness and was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed. May her memory be a blessing.
Arlene is survived by daughter Susan Tillem and Jonathan, daughter Jocelyn Leonard, Paul Leonard, Kathy Mackay, Grandchildren Courtney and Chad Gessin, Marissa and Brian Wolfson, Brandon and Michelle Leonard and Andrew and Deanna Leonard, Great Grandchildren, Jordan and Alexander Wolfson, Margaux Gessin, Aiden and Cameron Leonard and Ryan and Zachary Leonard.
