Casual Attire
Message from the Family,
Arthur was born October 16, 1937, in Manhattan, NY. He moved to Florida as a young child and graduated from Miami Beach High School where he played trombone in the Marching Band and appeared on national TV during the Orange Bowl in the 1950’s.
Arthur started college as a pre-dental student at Emory University and returned to Miami Beach due to his father’s illness and passing and the need to be with his family. He continued his studies at the University of Miami where he earned a degree in Psychology.
During his years at the University of Miami, while at a party, he met the love of his life, Bonnie Friedman, with whom he created a beautiful future. They were married on June 21, 1959.
Arthur and Bonnie moved to New York where Arthur started working as a pharmaceutical rep selling Similac with a dream of someday becoming a stockbroker on Wall Street which ultimately became a reality. He spent most of his career living out that dream by achieving the role of Vice President and managing several branch offices. In 1977, Bonnie and Arthur decided to follow their dreams and their parents to sunny south Florida, where they firmly planted their roots.
A lot could be said about Arthur’s life, but his true legacy lies in his family and the spectacular collection of photographs left behind. However, NOTHING was more important to him than his family. He is survived by his wife Bonnie, and they would have celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary this year. He is also survived by his children Sam, Marc and Erica and their respective spouses Suzanne, Cindy, and Brian. He was blessed with many beautiful grandchildren Shana, her husband Andy, Brian, Jordyn, his wife Ziggy, Max, Jake, his wife Haze, Matthew, and Michael. He also had the great fortune to enjoy his 3 beautiful great-grandchildren Sky, Ocean, and Cooper. And we could never forget his littlest love Gio.
Arthur’s involvement in the community and his endeavor to make things better in this world have been a passion throughout his life. He was very involved with the Ft. Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce and sat on the boards of several worthy organizations.
As an avid photographer, he spent much of his free time behind the lens of his camera. Rarely would you see him out and about without his Canon. He also found great pleasure on the other side of the lens, serving as an extra on several movies and TV shows.
Arthur was an amazing and loving man, who will be missed by all who knew him. Often referring to the people he highly respected as Mensch’s, there was no greater MENSCH than himself.
