FISCHER, DONALD ALEXANDER, 87, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2023. Born in 1936 in Brooklyn, New York, Donald was an award-winning architect and general contractor. Donald was married to the love of his life Anita and raised their three children in Shaker Heights, Ohio and then Coral Springs, Florida. Throughout the United States Donald’s creative talents were sought after to design extraordinary office buildings, schools, houses of worship and private residences. He devoted much of his time in leadership roles for numerous philanthropies and civic organizations including the Director of the Central Agency for Jewish Education, Chairman of the Board of Woodmont Hospital, President of the Alzheimers Family Center and Chairman of the City of Coral Springs Code Enforcement Board. Donald enjoyed traveling and gardening and most of all being with his grandchildren. He never dwelled on hardships, choosing instead service, gratitude and joy. Donald is survived by his devoted wife Anita, daughters Karen and Jenifer, son Eric and his wife Deborah, grandchildren Zachary (Molly), Allegra (Philip), Sierra, Jeremy, Louis and Sam, great-grandchild Oliver. In lieu of flowers, Donald supported the following organizations: American Heart Association, Jewish National Fund and JAFCO.
