She was a Fifth Grade school teacher at Kinneret Day School in Riverdale, NY who loved teaching her students. She also worked alongside her husband Morris and parents Ben and Helen Gutstein in their dry cleaning business in the Bronx.
Elaine Sokoloff was a devoted mother to her twin daughters Janet and Sharon. She loved her retirement life at Palm Lakes Condominium in Margate. During her retirement years, she spent her time volunteering for the Condominium working in the office. She was an active member of the City of Hope and Hadassah. Her hobbies included Mahjong, Bingo, playing cards and RummyQ.
She is survived by her sisters Rita Pollack and Susan Klein and her daughters. Donations can be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
A funeral service for Elaine will be held Monday, August 21, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM at Star of David Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, 7701 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL 33068, followed by a committal service.
