Our beautiful daughter Karen Lisa Berlin lives in the hearts of her parents Judy and Peter Berlin and her sons Zachary and William Ziemkowski. Karen was the daughter of our heart. She was a wonderful mommy and friend. ✡️ Karen was loved and cherished. Words cannot describe the profound loss we feel. We love you Karen. 

Karen was a student of my mom’s in pre-school. I remember when going to pick up my mom ( often getting there early,) I would play with Karen and the other kids. She always had an incredible imagination and was loved by everyone.  

Karen and I met about 7 years ago when our family moved to Georgia from South Florida. We connected through a mom group on Facebook and decided to meet at a local breakfast spot in Roswell where we spoke about our music interests, specifically Fleetwood Mac,  and our connections in south Florida (and how it was so odd that we had never crossed paths prior to living in North Atlanta). 

We had many differences in the way we viewed our lives, but the one thing we always had was the love, and respect,  for each other’s differences.  There were so many things we had planned … and our timing just never seemed to match up, and it just breaks me. 

I pray for your family’s wellbeing everyday. Every. Single. Day. But I know that you are soaking up all of the beautiful experiences in the afterlife. 

Karen was the epitome of what every human should strive to be. She had the kindest, most loving, and compassionate heart & soul.

Karen, I just miss you so, so  much. I find myself reaching for my phone at times to give you updates with Norman & Bates. And as the universe has it, every-time I turn on the radio I hear Stevie and get choked up. I know that G-d most certainly has a plan for you but I know you’re in heaven soaking up all that He has to offer, watching down on every single one of your loved ones, but it’s just not fair. I know we didn’t speak often, but when we did, our conversations were beyond meaningful and left everlasting impressions on my soul. 

Until we meet again, there will not be a single day that goes by where I won’t be thinking about you. 

Karen you were a sweet soul.    Through DWF, then we transitioned over to PWP and landed at Daft Cows.  MOOO.    You were always fun and real and a wonderful listener. 

 I will cherish you being the person I trusted enough to talk me off a ledge when I had news I couldn't tell anyone else.  You were an amazing listener and friend.  

I will pray for your kids and know that as time goes on, it will heal the pain of missing you.  

To her family, may time heal the pain of losing Karen and you know that she loved you so much.     I am so very sorry for your loss and words cannot express it.    Hang on to each other.  She loved her boys so much.

I met Karen through our sorority Pi Phi.  She was rushing the same year I was.  Karen was full of life always had a smile and a positive outlook on life.  We’ve kept in touch over the years since moving on from college.  
She will truly be missed.  Keeping her family in our prayers especially her boys.  

Never thought I would be writing this about my very best friend for 14 years. Karen I Love you so much and appreciate your friendship and non birth sister relationship that was so special to me. I am not sure what life looks like without our daily calls and texts but I know you’ll be with me. Rest In Peace and know how special you were to all of us. Love you bestie. 

I never thought I’d  be writing this for someone who had so much life. Karen was one of the kindest souls, she loved her family and friends so deeply. I have thousands of texts, messages and memories where she shared her passions for her children, yoga, higher learning and of course, all of her hair color inspiration. I was blessed by her loyal friendship and constant support of any business idea or podcast episode that she’d listen to me ramble on about. 
Karen’s spirit will forever be in the hearts of all of us lucky enough to know her. 

Sending love and light to all of the family. William and Zachary, your mom loved you both unconditionally and was so proud of every art project, every moment together and of how smart you both are. She has shared countless stories of who you both are growing up to be. 

May G’d comfort you all in the days ahead and may you feel her spirit around you each day. 

I am proud that I had the pleasure to know Karen and be her first visit to me at the salon became an instant friendship that bloomed for many wonderful years. My prayers are with you all 

I so enjoyed taking classes with Karen at Johns Creek Yoga. She was a lovely woman.

I was in Karen’s MA cohort. Although I hadn’t yet gotten the chance to meet her in person, I loved reading her discussion posts. She was so eloquent, insightful and would have been an amazing therapist. She often talked about her family and my condolences go to you all. 💕
