Dr. Marvin Rechter passed away peacefully on April 25th surrounded by his adoring family. Born in the Bronx, New York in 1935 to Rose and Samuel Rechter who predeceased him. Dr. Rechter was a true "dentist's dentist"¿even after retiring from active practice 30 years ago, he maintained his love for his patients and practice by showing up for "work" each day of his retirement. Marvin spent his life devoted to his family and many special friends whom he would speak to on a daily basis. He was the consummate "diner" getting to know by name each of those who worked at his favorite restaurants of which he dined daily with his family and many friends. He was a doting and devoted father and grandfather and got the most joy out of spending his retirement days involved with his children and spoiling his 7 grandchildren. Marvin is survived by his children, Dr. Sharon Rechter; Dr. Alan Rechter; Dr. Michael Rechter (Nicole); his adoring grandchildren: Rose, Levi, Eddie, Griffin, Taylor, Ava & Madison; sister, Harriett Shlansky and countless special friends whom he loved like family ..... The family would like to express a very special thank you to Barbara Blais and Irwin Kendall for their extraordinary devotion to Marvin. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 30, 12:00 pm at Star of David Cemetery, 7701 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, 33068. The family will be receiving friends at the home of Marvin Rechter: 9591 Park Lane, Plantation, FL 33324 immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Marvin's name to PKD Foundation. 1001 E. 101st Terrace, Suite 220, Kansas City, MO 64131 or www.pkdcure.com. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/sunsentinel/obituary.aspx?n=marvin-rechter&pid=185231959&fhid=8798#sthash.qOVASIUT.dpuf
