Mrs. Temple lived a long and fruitful life, devoting time to her family and friends and was known for her wit, her boundless energy and her gift of gab. Professionally, she worked as a school secretary for the New York City Board of Education before retiring and moving to Margate, Florida.
At first, retirement life was not her cup of tea, so she decided to take the civil service exam and, true to form, place Number One on the exam and for a couple of years worked for the City of Margate. By then, she was ready to jump full forward into condo life where she and her late husband, Harry Temple, became active in the condo lifestyle, helping organize and participate in many activities in Florida.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Harry Temple. After he suffered a stroke several years prior to his passing, Mrs. Temple took excellent care of her husband, helping him to recover to a high quality of life.
Survivors include her daughter, Rita Rothfeld and husband Barry Rothfeld of Hopewell Junction, New York; a son, Mark Temple and wife Melita Temple of Studio City, California; grandchildren Jason Rothfeld and his wife Stevey of New York City; Shari Rothfeld of New York City; Marie Santos and husband Jonathan of Millbrae, California; and great grandchildren, Joey Amelia Rothfeld, Bianca Santos and Justin Santos.
A private graveside funeral will be held in Florida on Monday, Dec. 21.
