Long ago and far away, a little girl named Shirley Roher grew up in Brooklyn, New York. This little girl became a poised, elegant, and warm woman who had a positive impact on all who knew her. Shirley was an incredibly loving wife, mother, and grandmother who had a great sense of humor. She gave her family unconditional love and a ton of fun and laughter.
Shirley married the love of her life, George, in 1957. The two of them went on to have adventures around the world for 68 years. These ranged from living on the Mexican border while George served as a doctor in the U.S. Air Force, to travels in all seven continents. This included four trips to Shirley’s favorite place in the whole world, the South of France.
Shirley earned a bachelor’s degree from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York, and a Master of Education from Syracuse University. After a career as a teacher, Shirley carved out a highly successful second career as a Legal Administrator for a major international company.
After 50 years in Westchester County, New York, tiring of the cold and snow, Shirley and George migrated to Boca Raton, Florida. They enjoyed the next 12 years living on the ocean.
Shirley also achieved the rank of Life Master in Bridge, a game she was passionate about for more than 20 years.
Shirley will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and acquaintances.
