She was born on January 23, 1930 in Swifton, Arkansas to parents Aaron Jake Nunemaker and Veda Fern Nunemaker.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, W. E. Gilbert. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Patricia Thompson and son-in-law, Bob Thompson; grandson, Tom Thompson; granddaughter, Tracy Mitchell and her husband, Keith; great grandchildren Timothy Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Blake Mitchell and Zoey Mitchell and one great great-grandchild, Logan Thompson. She is also survived by a half-brother, Danny Nunemaker and a half-sister, Wanda Lou Combs.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Pastor Brad Vaden and the congregation of Grace Baptist Church, especially Harry Simmons who brought Anna Jo to church every Sunday for many years. They would also like to thank the staff and residents at Sherwood Nursing Home and Rehab, when Anna Jo lived for many years and also the nurses and staff at Kindred Hospital who cared for Anna Jo and also her family with great compassion and love. All of these fine people were Anna Jo's family as well.
Visitation will be held at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, November 6th at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock followed by Funeral services honoring Anna Jo's life at 1:00 pm. Entombment immediately following in Rest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna Jo's memory may be made to Kindred Hospice.
