Bonnie Ruth Anderson, 85, of Jacksonville, passed away on October 20, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. The eleventh of Charles and Iva Sargent’s twelve children, Bonnie was born in Prairie Grove, Arkansas on June 13, 1936. After graduating from West Fork High School in 1954 Bonnie attended Cosmetology school in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She married the love of her life, Sammy Anderson, on September 3, 1955.
Bonnie was happy to take on the role as an Air Force wife. No matter where they were stationed, she was ready to make a home for her family and then pack up to do it all over again, this happened 13 times during Sam’s 20-year career. After retiring from the Air Force Bonnie and Sam opened a Farmers Insurance Group Agency, working side by side to build a successful business. After retiring the second time, Bonnie and Sam enjoyed traveling, gardening, and being “Mumu” to her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church North Little Rock and a faithful Christian all her life.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, all eleven of her brothers and sisters, and her granddaughter, Kelly Schultz. Bonnie is survived by her husband of 66 years, Sam; daughters Cheryl Johnston (Mike) and Cynthia Schultz (Eric); grandchildren: Dustin Strube (Andrea), Heidi Stone (John David), Daley Gamblin (Gage), Derek Schultz (Shelby), Kirk Schultz (Saxon), Brock Schultz, Tate Schultz, Zane Schultz, and Dax Schultz; greatgrandchildren: Riley and Alex Strube, and Violet, Emmett, and Ivy Stone.
Visitation will be held at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 5-7pm. Funeral service will be held at Faith Baptist Church in North Little Rock on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 1:00pm. Interment at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Sherwood on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 9:00am.
