Dan Robin Daniels, 86, of North Little Rock “stepped into glory” on January 8, 2017 to reunite with his loved ones who had gone before him. Dan was born December 28, 1930 to J.C. and Dora Ethel Daniels in Carlisle, AR. Dan retired from the postal service where he was a rural carrier in his own hometown of Carlisle. He was an avid gardener, sports enthusiast, music lover and lover of nature and people. He participated in many sports – bowling, baseball and softball (which he formed and coached his own team). Years later, he would excel in the Senior Olympics. He had a strong work ethic, whether it was tending one of his many gardens, fishing, walking, or one of his biggest passions - watermelon. He received many awards and ribbons for his melons – the largest weighing in over 200 lbs. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, traveling and collecting memories and stories he would carry with him always. A simple country boy with a big heart, you will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Ryuko Daniels and first wife, Carolyn Pledger; daughters Brenda Von Ohlen, Sheila Crum Laird (Robert) and Felicia Rendon (Danny) and son, Ronny Daniels. He was Papaw to his grandchildren - Sandra Boothe (Ryan), Carol Putnam (Rob), John Daniel Crum and Patrick Crum and Brandon Von Ohlen. Loved by great grandkids - Chris & Brooklyn Rowe, Maddie & Peyton Free, Lexi Boothe & Cecilee Boothe and Addi Putnam. Dan is also survived by siblings Mack Daniels (Kathy), Bonita Huey (JV), Larry Hill and Roberta Daniels along with many nieces and nephews and family that he held so dear to his heart. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Lexi Cicirello; parents J.C. and Dora Daniels; brother, Jack Daniels and sisters, Marilyn Parker and Sylvia Kay Hill.
