

Danny was of the Baptist Faith and was prepared to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior. He was looking forward to reuniting with those that preceded him in death to include his parents, wife (Mava Duke), and his son (Matthew Duke). He leaves behind to cherish his memories and call the HOGS his brother, David (JoAnne) Duke, stepdaughters Michele Love and Melissa (Larry) Newman. His grandchildren Allison (Andrew) Schuetz, Allen Newman, Jeffrey Newman, CJ (Emmi) Hillis & Lauren Shipman. He had the greatest joy of being PawPaw to his great grandchildren Bryson, Leland, Christopher, Ayden, Avery, Katerina Jo, Avenley, Anthony, Addie, Mary Jane & Rose. His special relationship with Jimmy Phil Maynard, John David Maynard, and niece Mandy (Brad) Simpson, and nephews Brad (Lisa) Duke and Bryan Duke.
Danny loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved sports and especially the Arkansas Razorbacks. Danny was the Parade Magazine All American Running Back of 1968 for NLR HS. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad as an engineer with almost 40 years of service. He served six honorable years in the Army National Guard. He will forever be remembered for his tenacity and spunk.
Celebration of Danny’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock.
The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to Gentiva Hospice for their loving care of Danny. The family would also like to honor his wishes and invite everyone to dress in Razorback attire & jeans for his celebration of life.
