   I am sad to hear about Debbie. Her quick smile and laughter made her a joy to be around. She was always kind and gracious to all at Oakbrooke.

My husband and I first met Deb several years back when our Sheltie got out. We had just adopted our sheltie three weeks before.Very early in the morning she escaped the backyard.  Deb showed up right away when she saw my FB post. She stayed with us until we got our girl back home.  A few weeks later at a pet fair she was so excited to see our Sheltie with us.

I knew Deb from the rescue world. I met her years ago while we both spent many hours trying to rescue Houdini. We worked together on other dogs over the years and she helped me out again just a couple of weeks ago. She was always so kind and gave so much to the animals. Such a big loss to our community and the animals.🥲

Sending much love to Stefanie and Tyler and Debbie’s whole family.  When Stef was in my class in 6th grade, Debbie was a great support.  She was always kind and helpful. I hadn’t seen her in years, but we had messaged each other from time to time.  This whole family has and will always have a special place in my heart.  She was such a beautiful gift to the world.❤️

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Debbie Papp.  She was the heart of Oakbrooke Elementary greeting everyone with warmth, kindness, and a willingness to help. Her dedication and compassion touched the lives of students, staff, and families every day. She will be greatly missed, but her legacy of care and service will remain part of my life. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.

Debbie and I met when our girls were in kindergarten and became fast friends as our girls were best friends all through elementary and high school.  I loved Debbie Papp. She was kind, loving and would give you the shirt off her back.   She and I visited many times while our girls played , had dance,  brownies,  and all the school activities over the years.   Stef lived at our house so many weekends and they gave Jessica a place to stay while we were transitioning to our new home.   Debbie and I kept in touch by text over the years and really reconnected when we both became grandmas.   She adored her grandson and we would share photos often.    I have many wonderful memories of my time talking and visiting together and I will hold in my heart forever.  Rest in peace my dear friend.  We will miss you.  Terri Baker

I was truly shocked to hear of her passing and so very sad. The loss rang thru our rescue community with disbelief and profound sadness.  We have all loved her from the beginning and her help and love for the animals was above all.  RIL sweet Deb.

I was so very sad to hear of Debbie's passing. She was a wonderful, supportive parent at Oakbrooke and valued staff member as well. My heart goes out to her family and all who loved her at this difficult time.

Deb loved so big. I don’t know that she ever fully realized the enormously positive impact that she had on rescue and shelter work. There is such a huge hole now that she is gone, and I don’t know that one person would be able to do all that she did.  She did so much on so many levels, and never wanted to be known for it.  She was just glad to be able to help.  Deb had a larger than life spirit that will be missed by so many.  She has touched so many lives over the years. I pray that she is at peace and will watch over all those that she loved and that those that loved her from here on.

Sincere Condolences for you all, I had seen her at Walmart just a few weeks ago.  I got the Biggest Hug, I’m thankful we were able to talk , and catch up about our children, and Hug.  I loved her, her kindness was endless, her passion was strong. We worked many years @ Oakbrooke. She was a true Blessing. May God give you all the love & strength that you need during this difficult time.

I loved Ms. Debbie so much. She was incredibly kind and made my day every time I walked into the office. My siblings and I all attended Oakbrooke from 1997 to 2012, and she was such a constant, loving presence throughout those years. My parents loved her as well. She made everyone feel welcomed and cared for, and she will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Debbie was the nicest person to me when I would work at Oakbrooke ❤️. I appreciated her. I did not know she was in the rescue world as well 🐾. She will be dearly missed.

Mrs. Debbie was like a second grandma to me when I attended oakbrook elementary. She was so sweet, and always looked out for me in anyway she could. I remember one of my favorite memories of her was when she gave me a piece of that strawberry candy with the jelly in the middle, because i was having a bad day due to being bullied. She always stood up for me and always made sure i felt seen, and i will be forever grateful for her and that memory. Rest in peace Mrs. Debbie. 🕊️💜

Debbie was such a strong, compassionate person. She constantly went above and beyond to help people and pets, alike. She was a wonderful friend and will be missed so very much by so many.

Debbie was such an awesome person. She was always willing to help others . She help me so much at PCSSD . When I got into something I couldn’t do all I had to do was call Deb. I know she will be greatly missed by her family & friends. Till we meet again Deb!💕

Debbie was one of the first ones to truly welcome me to Oakbrooke Elementary School 15 years ago when I was hired as a fourth-grade teacher.  We immediately bonded over our love for animals and children. She was a true friend and lovely person inside and out. We shared many friends that carried the same interests and ironically one of my new friends and I had invited her to lunch last week. She had to cancel. I am heartbroken that we didn't get to visit and hug one last time.  She will be so missed here on Earth but know that Heaven has received an angel. Please accept my true condolences and prayers for peace to her family and friends.
