Elizabeth "Mom" Faulkner went to her heavenly home on February 15, 2022 at the age of 91. She was born in Collins, AR on June 22, 1930. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mae Sasser, two sisters Martha McCrary and Hattie West, and by the love of her life Marvin Faulkner.
Mom was the matriarch of her family and she will be greatly missed by them all. She is survived by her son Gary Burchfield (Jean Ann) and her daughter Susan Gilbert (Larry). Her grandchildren Corie Scarborough, Miranda Burchfield-Baker (Phillip), Gary Gilbert (Kayla) and Cary Gilbert (Deanna). Her great grandchildren Hayley Scarborough, Garrett, Bailey and Kenslee Gilbert and Keaton Graves, Austin and Larry Gilbert, Ashlyn, Blakely and Tyson Baker. Also, by a host of other family and friends that loved her very much.
Elizabeth was a teacher, it was not just her job, she was a teacher right down to her bones. She graduated from UAM with her bachelor’s degree and from UCA with her Masters Degree. She taught in the McGehee, Portland, Crossett and Pulaski County Special School Districts and at Victory Baptist School. Elizabeth influenced countless lives with her tough, no nonsense exterior and heart of gold that loved kids and wanted them to succeed.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday February 22nd 11-12 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, where funeral services will follow at 12 pm. Entombment will follow in Rest Hills Memorial Park, North Little Rock.
