

Harold W. Bailey, age 86, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away March 18, 2025. He was born on March 7,1939 in Texarkana, Texas to Jewell and Raymond Bailey and raised in the Nazarene church. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Thomas Bailey, Betty Earhart, Glenn Bailey, Wanda Holliday and Terry Bailey.
He is survived by his wife Joyce; brother Joe Reid; daughters Patricia Eastham (Ron), Sharry Roetzel and Carol Scott (Wade); 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Roetzel, Christopher Eastham (Cassidy), Derek Roetzel (Katie), Bailey Scott Rhodes (John) and Leah Scott; 4 great grandchildren he adored, Ella and Brooks Eastham, Grant and Arden Roetzel; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
At 16, Harold joined the US Navy serving as an electrician’s mate on the USS Polk County (LST-1084). In 1957, the Polk County survived sailing through the eye of Typhoon Agnes in-route to Okinawa. After his military service, he worked in heating and air, moving to North Little Rock in 1964. He opened his own business, Action Heating and Air in 1965 serving Central Arkansas for 60 years. Always dedicated to his work, he often made service calls after hours and on holidays. Harold joined the US Naval Reserve, retiring after 20 years with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. His yearly assignment was usually at the Pearl Harbor Submarine Base in Hawaii. His commitment and service were recognized with numerous commendations, including the National Defense Medal and Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal. Harold was a hard worker and enjoyed using his artistic abilities to create small sculptures out of copper and wire. He also loved music, singing and playing guitar for his family and friends.
In accordance with Harold’s wishes, the family will gather for a private memorial service at the Arkansas Veteran’s Cemetery.
