Hunter Steven "Steve" Shearin Jr.

He was predeceased in life by his parents, Hunter Steven Shearin, Sr, Girlie Jo Simon Shearin Abbott, and James R Abbott; a sister, Barbara Akers; late wife, Barbara Hughes; grandparents, John B. and Vauda M. Shearin, Harold F. and Lorene B. Simon.

He left behind his loving wife, Cynthea Hicks Shearin; a son, Daniel Ridling (Samantha) of Sherwood; four grandchildren, Alicia Trujillo, Miguel Trujillo, Vicente Trujillo and Armando Trujillo; two siblings, Stephanie Pollard of Maumelle and Rick Abbott (Sherry) of Sherwood, an aunt, Camille Simon Taylor (Bob) of North Little Rock. He also left behind 4 nephews and a niece, Michael Akers (Billy) of Bryant, Timothy Akers (Kerri) of East End, Jennifer Akers (Robert) of Benton, Jason Pollard (Laura) of Maumelle, and Cole Abbott of Sherwood and great nieces and nephews.

He was a member of Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church in Sherwood. He worked in retail sales during his career, retiring from Haverty’s. He was a big Razorback fan and enjoyed sports, music and movies, and was a true friend of Bill.

He had a big heart and was always ready to help anyone in need. We will miss his fun spirit and the way he could make us laugh.

Visitation will be held on July 19, 2023 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service celebrating Steve’s life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Rest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wolfe Street Foundation, 1015 S Louisiana St., Little Rock, AR 72202.
