Jeannine Hunter Hopkins

Jeannine Hunter Hopkins, 89, of Brentwood, Tennessee, formerly of Conway, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord on December 29, 2021. Jeannine was born on August 3, 1932 in Benton, Arkansas; the daughter of Willie Ragan and Nora Elizabeth Rowland. Jeannine married David G. Hunter in 1953, who preceded her in death in 1980. In 1995, she married Alex B. Hopkins who also preceded her in death in 1999. Jeannine began her career of over 40 years as a graphic artist in Little Rock, AR, drawing fashion illustrations for local department stores such as Blass, Pheifer’s and M.M. Cohn. She later became the Art Director for Dillard’s Divisional Advertising from which she retired in 2000. During her time at Dillard’s, she enjoyed working with her daughter Gail for 18 years. Jeannine loved her family and friends with all her heart. She was kind, caring and compassionate and always put others before herself. Her many joys in life included being outdoors, bird watching, gardening, and creative landscaping.

Jeannine leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters Gail Ann Hunter Roper and her husband Tony of Brentwood, TN, and Carol Beth Hunter Scott and her husband Rob of Conway, AR, three grandchildren Kendall Roper of Brentwood, TN, Hunter Scott and his wife Morgan of Conway, AR and Blaklee Scott of Conway, AR. Other survivors include her brother Mike Rowland of Little Rock, AR along with several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Along with her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son David R. Hunter and her sister Nell Hudson.

A visitation will take place on Monday, January 3, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, AR. Funeral services will be conducted at the pavilion in Rest Hills Memorial Park on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 beginning at 11:00 am. Ken Wilson, Senior Teaching Pastor, Fellowship Bible Church, Conway, AR, will be officiating.
