and is now walking and talking with Jesus. Born on July 12, 1946 to Elwood and Wanda Dunlap, he graduated from Harding University in 1974 with a degree in Accounting. Lyle was baptized into Christ on October 24, 1965 and has walked with Him since that day.
Lyle was deeply devoted to the love of his life, Cheri, and his two children and
grandchildren. He had a huge heart of gold that beat with compassion for other people and animals.
His work ethic set him apart, as he worked tirelessly and without complaint to support his family
through the ups and downs of life. He was a giver that anticipated the needs of others before his
own. Lyle found his joy by chasing a little white ball along the greens of eighteen holes with
very little concern about the current weather. He loved America and served for many years in
the United States Air Force and Arkansas National Guard. Most of all, Lyle leaves behind a
legacy of faith and love that will live on through the lives of his children and grandchildren
who love him dearly.
Lyle is survived by his wife of 51 years, his Cheri Ann; son, Blake Dunlap and daughter-in-
law, Jennifer; his daughter, Hilari Shirley and son-in-law, Darren; grandchildren, Jasmine, Whisper, Tiernan, Tristan, Mikayla, Evan, Lynley, and Scarlett; and brother, Jerry Dunlap. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Wanda Dunlap.
A private family service will be held on Wednesday, February 10th at 10:00 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock. Please sign the online guest registry at
www.griffinleggettresthills.com. Memorials honoring Lyle may be made to Veterans's charities
or to charities providing care for animals.
A spot in heaven was filled today, but a hole has been left behind. We know that we will
see you again and will carry on with love and memories of you in our hearts until that day arrives.
