Margaret Juanita Day Feathers passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018. Born September 5, 1929 in Nutter's Chapel, a rural community near Conway, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Thomas Walter Day and Edith West Day. She was a life-long Baptist. Because of the lengthy illness of her mother, she and her two siblings were raised from young ages by their father. At the age of 8 her Dad moved the family to the Woodrow Community near Vilonia where she grew up working on the farm. She was outgoing and enjoyed growing up among many friends. At age 17 she moved to Conway where she was employed by the International Shoe Factory. While there, she married Aaron Feathers who was serving in the Air Force, and they soon moved to Little Rock Air Force Base where he was stationed. With the exception of one overseas tour of duty in England, Jacksonville remained her home for life.
Margaret enjoyed the roles of mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She was an excellent cook, and anyone was always welcome to share a meal.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Aaron Feathers, a brother Alfred Owen "Pete" Day, special Aunt Annie Lee West, step son John Feathers, and grandson Zachary Smith. She is survived by a daughter, Vida Renay Waters (Jim), two step daughters, Linda Dunlap (James) and Sallie Smith (Steve), daughter-in-law Sylvia Feathers, grandchildren, Tommy Beason, Elizabeth Sisk (John) and their daughter Evyn Renay. Other grandchildren include Tara Newkirk (Tom), Jake Waters (Amy), Monica, Brandy, Erin, Dakota, Mikala, Aaron, Teresa, Dennis, John Douglas, Jane, and 18 great grandchildren. Day, 4 nieces Kim Wilson, Tammy Wakefield, Alfreda Keuten, Joley Day Mayfield, 7 great nieces and nephews, beloved friend Wandeana Wilburn, and special cousin, Joe West.
