Megan Montgomery Powell, 45 of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning September 9th, 2021 at her home. Megan was born October 3rd, 1975 in Salt Lake City, Utah and was the daughter of Mike & Jerene Montgomery.
Megan was a loving daughter, mother, and sister. She was a successful and highly respected banker working as a Commercial Loan Officer for Regions Bank in Little Rock. Megan graduated Hall High School in 1994 and from Southern Methodist University in 1998 with a degree in Finance & Economics. She started her banking career out of college at EW Blanch in Dallas, Texas. After moving to Little Rock she worked for Centennial Bank, Central Bank, and Regions Bank.
Megan was married to Joey Powell and they have a precious daughter Kiley. Megan loved her daughter Kiley like no other. She was the light of her life and her heart and soul. Megan also cherished her cat Rosie.
Megan is survived by her parents Mike & Jerene Montgomery, her daughter Kiley Powell age 11; her sister Michelle Johnner of Dallas, Texas and brother-in-law Matthew Johnner and niece and nephews Ellison, Hudson, & Whit Johnner; her brother Mace Montgomery of Memphis, Tennessee and sister-in-law Lori Montgomery, niece Avery Montgomery and nephew Michael Montgomery.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Robert & Ruth Montgomery and her maternal grandparents Faye Helmcamp & Don Whitaker.
You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life….so, live for today and say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember…..and hope that they appreciate and love you for all the things that you have done for them in all the years past.
The funeral service will be Saturday, September 25th at 2:00 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made in Megan’s honor for her daughter Kiley
