A native of Little Rock, he loved attending church, spending time with family and friends, hosting fish fries, and spreading joy to others by making them laugh.
He was very proud of his family and was proceeded in death by his parents, J.H. and Eary Dyson, three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carolyn (Rochelle) Dyson, who was the love of his life, his sister Marilyn (Mervyn) Miller, children Leland (Carol) Dyson, Farin Dyson, Dawn (Tracy) Chandler, grandchildren Loren (Kayla) Dyson, Jennifer (Josh) Miller, and Caroline Chandler.
As an avid hunter and fisherman, he was known for his love of the great outdoors. He was a member of Lakeside Country Club for most of his life.
In his early years, he enjoyed running fox hounds and playing men’s fast pitch softball. He was the pitcher the year his team won the State Championship.
He owned and operated Dyson Upholstery for many years prior to moving in to restaurant ownership.
A devout Christian with an outgoing personality, he gravitated towards people of character. He was loved and respected by many.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 2nd from 11a to 1p and service to start at 1pm at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd, North Little, AR 72117.
