Master Sgt. Phillip Lewis Gilson (Ret) passed away October 15, 2015. He was born October 12, 1931 in Decorah, Iowa to William Hyman and Esther Nell Gilson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Frances Gilson, daughter, Cheryl Musgrove, and siblings, Bill Gilson, Boyd Gilson and Donald “Donnie” Gilson. He retired from the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict and two tours in Vietnam. He is survived by his wife, Beryle Gilson; children, Kay Haymore, Thomas Sunday, Rene Kirkpatrick, Faron Lee (Jimmy Ray) Kirkpatrick, William E. (Rita) Duffy and Lloyd L. Duffy; ten siblings, John (Bessie) Gilson, Cheryl Reid, Lucille Bowman, Charles “Chucky” Gilson, Duane (Beverly) Gilson, Ronnie (Arlyss) Gilson, Norman (Majorie) Gilson, Nancy Towe, Larry (Genea) Gilson, and Beth Morgan; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 21, at 9:00 a.m. with services beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Road in North Little Rock.
