Susan Lee Dougan

Susan lived in North Little Rock, AR. She was first and foremost a loving mother to her only child, Christopher. Throughout Chris’s youth, Susan was always involved in every activity her son showed interest in and wanted to be part of. This eventually led to Susan joining the PTA, which paved the way to her becoming PTA president throughout Chris’s high school period. Susan was adamant when it came to creating gatherings for her family and friends and was well known for her hospitality. She was proud to be a host for a Polish exchange student, Agata, who became a daughter to Susan. Agata, her family, and Susan continued to stay in touch, even after the Exchange Program ended. They talked daily and visited each other on a regular basis. Susan found pleasure in her international travels (she adored the architecture and the Pope); with her favorite destinations located in Europe; visiting Greece, Poland, Luxemburg, and Ukraine annually. She was well known for her compassion for animals. Susan devoted most of her life to rescuing stray dogs and would take pride in providing them with the best life, full of love and happiness.

Susan was the daughter of Jean and Michael Passero. She is survived by her son, Christopher Dougan; daughter-in-law, Sarah Hardee; grandson, Benjamin Dougan; her sister, Michele Chidester; and her nephews, Bryan, Stephen, and James Chidester. She also leaves behind her rescued strays, Molly and Sammy.

We will cherish the time we spent with her and every memory made. Her absence will be deeply felt but we know part of her will always be here. She was a gift from God and now she has her wings.

Visitation will be held at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, AR 72117, on June 11, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The Funeral Service will follow at the same location on June 11, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Burial will take place at Rest Hills Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, AR 72117, on June 11, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
