old. She and her husband, Sheldon G. Mills (deceased), were directors of United Synagogue Youth (USY)
in Long Island, Yonkers and Newburgh, NY. Clair also taught Sunday school at Temple Beth Jacob in
Newburgh, NY, Temples Beth David, Sinai, and Bet Shira in Miami-Dade County, and Temples Beth El and
Solel in Broward County. Her love of drama and song came across in various plays and shows she was
part of, as well as when she volunteered to read to children at the local library.
Besides family, tennis, horse racing and travel rounded out her life. She and her husband traveled the
world, always amazed at what two kids from New York had accomplished.
Clair is survived by her daughter Benee Mills-Paley; her daughter Rhonda Mills (Bobby James); and
her son Jay Mills (Susie); her 4 grandchildren, her 9 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
The graveside funeral will be on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. The family will sit shiva on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 4-5, from 3 - 5 pm at her Park Place residence. A celebration of life will be held at the end of June.
Donations in her honor may be to City of Hope, Hadassah, Israel, or a charity of your choosing.
