Frantz Pierre was born on January 7th, 1965, in Cap-Haitien, Haiti. He was the elder of a big family of nine children as follow: Jose Pierre, Joline Green, Fleurise Davis, Nathalie Pierre Williams, Kinsley Pierre, Tatiana Fleurine Menendez, Jacques Joseph Pierre Jr., and Martine Pierre.
He was the pride and joy of his parents Jacques Joseph Pierre and Ferna Marie Declasse. Frantz started school at the young age of three years old. He was a brilliant student who excelled in every subject.
Frantz had a short career in music, especially as a trumpetist in his school band for four years. During his primary and secondary school, he earned the highest scores and won many awards. He suffered the loss of his mother at the age of 20.
In 1985, Frantz’ father made the decision to have him, along with his brother immigrate to the United States of America to further their studies. He graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in education. He later obtained his master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University in the hope of pursuing a teaching career.
In 1990, he met the love of his life Marie Evange Romélus who then became his loving wife, mother of his children, and lifelong partner. Together they raised six beautiful children: Karry Joseph Pierre, Keren H. Mikenshel Pierre, Lynn-Iris Valerie Pierre, Gregory Zidane Pierre, Patricia Frantznee Pierre et Jayden Osteen Pierre.
In the early 1990s, Frantz took on his first teaching assignment. Throughout his teaching career he worked at Benjamin Franklin K-8 center, Oak Grove Elementary, and many other schools. He was excited to change the world one student at a time. Besides his twenty-four years of teaching, Frantz helped his community on a greater platform. He pursued a council seat in the city of North Miami Beach. He first ran unsuccessfully in 2005, then successfully in 2007. Frantz election was followed by a series of consecutive reelections throughout the years of 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and finally a shortened 4-year term that ended in 2018. He served the citizens of North Miami Beach with the same dedication he was known to tackle every task.
Frantz had a strong love and passion for God and his church. God and His Word were his first love. As a child, Frantz, and his siblings each took turns sharing the Word of God before bed. As an adult, though he was a very busy man, he made time for church. He took great pleasure in printing his church program every Sunday for many years. He supported, loved, and revered his church wholeheartedly.
Frantz loved his family dearly and took pride in raising his children to be God-fearing and respectful. He has instilled in his children the morals and values of God and life that he learned from his own experiences. Frantz made sure his children knew and understood what having faith in the Lord can do for their lives. Frantz loved to make his children laugh with his funny dance moves and silly jokes. He loved spending time with his children whether it’s playing soccer traveling, or just grabbing something to eat. Frantz loved food.
Frantz left behind eight siblings with countless nephews and nieces. He left his beloved brother Jose Pierre, his wife Marthe A. Pierre and their children Sarah Lise Pierre, Rachel Pierre, and Esther Y. Pierre. He left his loving sister Joline Pierre Green and Peter Green. Frantz also left behind his sister Fleurise Davis and her husband Jimmy Davis as well as their children Jimmy Lee Davis III, his wife Cayla Davis and baby Jay Davis IV, Ferna Marie Davis, Jolie Davis, and Frederic Davis. Also, in mourning are his sister Nathalie Pierre-Williams and her husband Michael Williams, his brother Kinsley Pierre, his sister Tatiana Fleurine Menendez and her husband Michael Menendez, his brother Jacques Joseph Pierre Junior, and Martine Pierre. Frantz also left his beloved grandmother Alide Semerant and countless aunts and uncles to include Elsie Josephine Vernet, Carole Vincent, Margarette Semerant, Gladstone Declasse, Vauze Declasse, Reus Pierre, and many more. Frantz also left behind a legion of cousins including those who have never left his side: Matin (Chouma) Pierre, Roselaure Coqmar, Rev. Lucien Pierre, Beatrice Jean, Ange Marie Dorléant.
The Pierre, Romélus, Declasse, Semerant, Dorléant, Vincent, Williams, Menendez, Green, and Davis will forever miss Frantz. We loved him dearly. He was the heartbeat of our family and our shining star. Please keep us in prayer.
Although our hearts are broken, we have found peace and strength in knowing that our dearest Frantz is resting peacefully. We wholeheartedly believe to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! Frantz may be gone, but his legacy will live on through his children, students, and all of those who loved him. He is in glory with God, his parents, his little brother Leslie, and all of those he loved who went before him. He is now in perfect peace.
Frantz will be remembered as a man who loved deeply, enjoyed life to the fullest, enamored with soccer, values family, and a man who loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our family is immensely grateful for having blessed with his leadership for fifty-eight (58) years.
To God be the Glory!
