Born in the Dominican Republic, Juana lived a life marked by strength, compassion, and unwavering commitment to her family and community. Before immigrating to the United States in 1983, she studied law and served both in the Dominican Navy and the Ministry of Labor—early examples of her dedication to public service and justice.
Upon arriving in the U.S., Juana embraced every challenge with grace and determination. Though her formal career changed, her life’s work remained constant: caring for others. She poured her energy into her husband, raising her children and later her grandchildren, nurturing them with the same love, guidance, and steadiness that defined her life. Her family was the center of her world.
Juana’s kindness was legendary. She was always the person you could count on—whether you were a close friend or a neighbor in need. Her door was open, her advice sound, her hands ready to help. She gave without hesitation, and loved without condition.
She was known for her deep love of music, often filling her home with rhythms that brought joy and warmth. She could hold her own in any game of dominoes, her quick wit and clever strategy making her a formidable (and beloved) opponent. Her resourcefulness was unmatched—if there was a problem, Juana found a solution.
Juana also cared selflessly for others throughout her life. She was the devoted caretaker to her mother until her passing, and to her beloved husband, Hector Vicente Ramos Sr., during his final years. Their marriage of 27 years was filled with love, laughter, and deep mutual respect.
Those who knew Juana will remember her for her boundless generosity, her quiet strength, and her ever-present warmth. She was the rock of her family, the heart of every gathering, and the soul of her community.
Juana leaves to celebrate her life her children: Paola Ramos, Hector Anibal Ramos, and Hector Vicente Ramos Jr., as well as her grandchildren, Jasiella Vanegas, Jezulah Vanegas, and Daziah Ramos. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and grace that will live on through the lives she touched.
Rest in peace, Juana. Your light continues to shine for all of us.
