Dr. Richard Allen Danzig

Richard Allen Danzig sadly passed away on April 2, 2018 in Miami, Florida. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, children Carl and Meredith, brothers Steven and Mitchell, and grandchildren, Manny and Ruby.

Richard was born on November 8, 1951 in Philadelphia to Leonard and Cecilia Danzig. He graduated Northeast High School in 1969 and matriculated to Temple University, where he spent eight years. He graduated from the School of Dentistry in 1977. During dental school, he married the love of his life, Barbara, in May 1974. He and Barbara went on to have two children, Carl and Meredith, and raised them in suburban Philadelphia.

He practiced dentistry in Northeast Philadelphia where his larger-than-life personality blossomed in concert with his career. Richard was affectionately known as “The King of Teeth.”

He had a loyal following of patients for many years, but finished his career as part of the Rural Health Network in Key West, Florida.

Richard loved horse-racing, casinos, and baseball. He was the embodiment of Philadelphia through-and-through with a love of all Philadelphia sports teams. Summers were spent down the shore in Margate, New Jersey with his family. His favorite place to vacation was Aruba, which he visited multiple times a year.

However, he stopped visiting Aruba after moving to Florida in 2014. It was here in Florida where he could be reunited with his children and go on to be present for the birth of his two grandchildren. Trips to Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlor, the beach, and Phillies games with his grandchildren completed his bucket list.

He was loved by many and will be missed by all. His entire family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and everyone’s respective spouse, will surely feel the absence of his beaming personality and kind soul.
