Robert Burroughs died suddenly and unexpectedly on July 29, 2018 at the age of 70 years. He is the son of now deceased Arthur Burroughs and Ida (Lapidus) Burroughs of Brookline, Massachusetts and Aventura, Florida, and the sister of Marjorie Sanders, M.D. of Coconut Grove, Florida. He was an unforgettable person. His undaunted spirit and drive despite his disabilities, and his determination, made possible his amazing life. As a child he was the smiling poster boy for United Cerebral Palsy. In spite of his own condition, he educated medical students and children about disabilities while working in the communications department at the Massachusetts General Hospital, he developed an engaging sense of humor, mastered the computer with one finger, and became a special member of the Jewish community which gave him dignity and respect. His struggles made him strong of character and humanity. He was an inspiration to all. He was grateful for the support given him by all his relatives and those everyday people to whom he reached out. In addition to his devoted sister, he leaves behind his beloved nephews, Jonathan Sanders, Marc Sanders, and Larry Sanders as well as his brother-in-laws, Sheldon Roen, and Jay Sanders, and great nieces Annabelle and Lael and his longtime aide, Lorna Stephenson. Graveside services by Shalom Memorial Gardens in North Miami Beach at 11 AM Wednesday, August 1,2018
