Sam attended the Bat Mitzvah of Brett Dorfman Gaillard in Rosemont, PA in 1993. My husband Drew Dorfman and cousins, Jerry and Marlene Fertel, would spend time with Sam and Esther whenever they visited Atlantic City. We were so happy when his visit coordinated with a family event we could share together.

Adorable child, Sam, became a cool teenager. 

Photos of Sam from my mother, Tillie Greenfield Klein's collection of Sam as a child from 1930 and as a teenager with my mother and father, Aunt Toots and Uncle Dave, in Atlantic City. 
Sam and Esther came north to Rosemont, PA to attend our daughter Brett's Bat Mitzvah and party in 1993.

Sam Richter was a cherished first cousin. He was the son of my mother's sister, Aunt Pauline. We know he had suffered an injury and was in rehab. I became concerned when the USPS returned our holiday card. Sam told me he enjoyed those cards because the cards always included lots of photos. I tried email and text to contact Sam. When there was no response, I called both home and cell numbers. Both were disconnected and out of service, so I called our mutual cousin and friend of Sam's, Jerry Fertel, to check addresses and tel numbers. Today, Jerry found the obituary online.
 As a child, I idolized Sammy with his convertible car. He would give me rides. I visited him a few times in Florida, and our mutual Uncle Bobby Bassman and Sam were friends. Sam used to chauffer Uncle Bob and his Rat Pack friends when they were all in Florida. On a visit to see Aunt Pauline with my brother and his wife, Ron and Joy Klein, the hotel plans fell through, and Sam found us lovely lodgings along the waterway. My husband Drew, Jerry and Marlene Fertel and I used to spend a day with Sam and sometimes Esther whenever they visited Atlantic City. I will miss him. 
My condolences to his entire family.

So sorry to hear about my cousin Sam. I have many childhood memories.  We will miss him. 

For the family. Sam brought happiness to Miami Jewish community. We loved him because he was a caring person who loved talking about his family. I was lucky to call him a friend. He will be missed by all but in the last year he had no regrets but loved talking about what a great life he had.  Respected by all. You family members are so lucky.

My dad will be missed. He was a hero, a firefighter, a marine, someone to look up to and a great dad. That photo below is from one of our mini mini vacations at on Miami Beach. Where he relaxed and as well as worked. I will miss him.

By the way when I say hero, he saved the number of lives As a fire fighter. He also save mine when I was around five years old I cannot swim yet and like  to dive off the high diving board. I can still picture in my minds eye of him jumping in. To rescue my ass, since the flotation device I was using fell off.

Words cannot describe my feelings right now.
