Born on July 12, 1932, in Anse-à-Foleur, Haiti, Enode was the beloved daughter of Marmontel Guillaume and Dieudonne Jean Michaud. She grew up in a large, close-knit family with four brothers and four sisters, a foundation that nurtured her strong sense of community, resilience, and work ethic.
Enode shared her life with Joram Toussaint, and together they were blessed with two daughters, Alma and Joanne, who became the center of her world. A devoted mother, Enode poured her love, time, and energy into raising her children and building a life grounded in family, faith, and service.
Enode was a woman of many talents and unstoppable energy. She was an accomplished businesswoman, a skilled baker who ran her own bakery, and a devoted seamstress. Known for her intricate handiwork, she lovingly sewed clothes for her children and clients, especially for special occasions like weddings. Her hands were rarely still, and she found joy and purpose in staying active and productive. She never liked to sit idle; she often stayed up late and rose early, always on the move, whether for her business, her family, or her community.
In December 2003, Enode relocated to Miami. Though she left her hometown, her heart never did—she remained deeply connected to Anse-à-Foleur, always ready to give back and lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Enode had a deep faith and spiritual life. She loved to read and pray and was a devoted churchgoer, attending services three to four times a week. Prayer was a cornerstone of her life, and even in her final days, it was a song about drawing closer to God that brought her peace and comfort.
She will be remembered as a tireless worker, a generous soul who helped many children along the way, and a woman of unwavering faith and devotion. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.
She departed this life peacefully on July 28, 2025, at the age of 93. She is survived by her daughters Alma and Joanne, her extended family, and a community that will never forget her strength, her spirit, and her enduring love.
May she rest in eternal peace.
