

Franklin Joseph, “Tiyen” to his beloved family and friends, was born in Cap-Haïtien on October 2, 1950 to Ms. Celine Alminor and Annelus Joseph. The eldest of seven, he attended primary school at Frère de l’instruction Chretienne (FIC) and secondary school at Lycée Philippe Guerrier. After graduating from secondary school, he studied accounting at Metullus Accounting School in Cap-Haïtien and worked as an accountant at Conasa Company. In 1980, Tiyen left Haiti and joined the Norwegian Cruise Line as a cruise ship member. On the cruise ship, he travelled the world, going to European countries such as Germany, France and Russia. In July 1981, he married Marise Osse in Miami, Florida and they had two children: Farah Joseph and Teddy Frank Joseph. After leaving the cruise ship in 1997, he worked at the Hyatt Regional Hotel until retiring in February 2014. He attended and was baptized at Independent Church of God.
Tiyen is survived by his wife: Marise Joseph; his children: Farah Joseph and Teddy Frank Joseph; his siblings: Maude Joseph, Jocelyn Joseph, Maryse Joseph, and Immacula Joseph; his cousins: Guy Dominique, Gabriel Dominique, Jessie Dominique, Evelyn Eugene and Sylvie Osse; his grandchildren: Micah Guillame, Asia Joseph, Josiah Joseph and Teyanah Joseph; his nieces and nephews: Wilnise Benoit, Chouddlyne Tamara Joseph, Vanessa Joseph, Christopher Joseph, Roodelyne Davilmar, Stephanie Bruno, Bernice Joseph, and Roldine Celine Davilmar; his mother in law: Theresa Joseph; his brother in laws: James Davilmar, Malbranche, Pierrot and Serge Osse; his sister in law: Rose Fabien Joseph; his daughter in law: Sylvia Millen; his extended family: the Cadet family, the Colas family, the Leveille family, Mr. Gerard Obin and family, Mrs. Antoine Obin and family,the Osse family and the Semexant family; his close friends: Ulrick Cadet and Ajax Jean.
