Brenda Eileen Batchelor, age 86, of Jupiter, Florida, passed peacefully on January 4, 2026, surrounded by her children, granddaughter and extended family. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to proud parents John Comerford Tracey Sr. and Janet Elizabeth (Graham)Tracey on February 8, 1939. The eldest of four, her sparking blue eyes and infectious smile quickly earned her the nickname of “Bright Eyes”. In 1952, the family moved to Singer Island and Brenda found her forever home in South Florida. She loved the beach and all activities associated with the water. You would see her water skiing and jumping the ramp along the Blue Herron bridge, spending countless hours at the beach, and cruising on their boats.
She attended Palm Beach High School where she was a cheerleader, played the violin, sang in the choir and when she was 17 was crowned Miss Riviera Beach. She married Richard Allen Pinder in 1957 and they were blessed with three children, Rick, Dale and Karen. They moved north to Melbourne due to Richard’s work in 1967 and after their divorce Brenda moved back south to Palm Beach Gardens. Soon afterwards, she remarried to her “forever love”, Charles (“Chuck”) Batchelor. She worked as the bakery manager in the NPB Publix for over 20 years; arriving there daily before sunrise and perfecting her baking skills. Anyone tasting her delicious homemade Christmas cookies or pumpkin loaves can attest to those skills.
With her joyful personality and “Bright Eyes”, Brenda made friends easily and because of her love of entertaining, these friends became lifelong friends. Brenda’s homes were always open to all, serving as a gathering place for family and friends. She was passionate about cooking, baking and entertaining and was at her happiest with a house full of people to feed. If you had a favorite meal, you could count on Brenda to remember it, figure out how to make it the best and gleefully serve it to you when you came by. She and Chuck traveled the world, but their favorite vacation was returning to Green Turtle Cay and the Green Turtle Inn every year to celebrate their wedding anniversary. They enjoyed 43 years together supporting each other and their shared interests.
She was a proud and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her blended family of 6 children, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Brenda is predeceased by her parents, John and Janet; husband, Chuck; siblings, John C. Tracey Jr. and Lorraine Maslovsky; son, Richard Pinder; stepson, Stephen Batchelor and great granddaughter, Emma Richard. Our beautiful “Bright Eyes” is surely entertaining them all wonderfully!
She is survived by her sister, Margie Taylor; daughter, Karen Sendler (Robert); son, Dale Pinder (Lynette); stepchildren, Cheri Fayed (Wes), Kevin Batchelor (Angie), Shawn Batchelor (Donna); grandchildren, Christian Sendler (Kendra), Ashlyn Sendler, Nicole Syler (David), Trina Stigberg (Ryan), Kristina Richard (Justin), Ricky Pinder; stepgrandchildren Kristi Webb, Wendi Long, Jessica Fitts, Dustin Batchelor and Steven Batchelor. Immediately following the ceremony, interment will take place at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens located at 5601 Greenwood Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33407.
